The service
The site is free and provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We may change, pause or remove any part of it.
An estimate, not a fatwa
The results are estimates based on published guidance named on our sources and method page. They are not a religious ruling (fatwa), not legal, tax or financial advice, and not a substitute for asking a scholar about your own situation. In particular:
- Scholars and bodies differ on some questions, such as the nisab weights, jewellery that is worn and long-term shares. The result depends on the choices you make in the calculator.
- Gold, silver and currency prices come from public market sources and can be delayed, unavailable or different from a local dealer's price. Check them, and type your own if they differ.
- Zakat al-fitr, fidya and kaffarah amounts change every year and by country. Use your local body's figure where it differs from ours.
- The Hijri calendar is calculated (Umm al-Qura). A local moon sighting can put a date one day later.
- The inheritance calculator covers spouses, children, parents and full siblings only, and does not take account of any country's law. Dividing a real estate needs a scholar and a lawyer.
You are responsible for the zakat and other payments you make, and for checking the figures you rely on.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Acceptable use
Do not try to disrupt the site, scrape it at a scale that slows it for others, or use it for anything unlawful.

The text and design of the site are ours. You may quote short passages with a link back. Links to other sites, including the sources we cite, are for your information; we are not responsible for their content.
Third-party services
The site uses public price services and, only if you accept, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Our privacy policy explains each.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change; using the site after that means you accept the new version.
